Hiatus no longer

Goodness, I just realized it has been way too long since the last post.  So much so that I didn't realize all my pictures on the previous posts were deleted, oops, darn technology.  I dearly apologize my friends!  With that outta the way...let's get this party started!  I have so many things to share with you!!!

Long summer days have slipped away as the holidays have snuck up upon us.  The sun is waning in the west, the cooler temperatures have blown in on our coastal winds & the nervous twitch of excitement is in the air.  The thought of the upcoming holiday season always gives me a creative second wind & gets me super hyped. But for what...why?  As a kid the reasons are obvious with the prospect of vacation time, candy, goodies, fun times, no school, lots of 'things' to do, traveling, arts & crafts, etc.  As an adult, I relish that wave of excitement & let the good times transcend into my holiday lifestyle.  Unfortunately our family has decreased instead of increased in size but we continue to keep as many family traditions as we can alive.  This is our way of remembering all of our loved ones with whom these traditions have come from.
So am I excited?  Heck yes I am!!!

What are your holiday plans this year, hmmm?
Dinner parties, soiree's, football tailgating, family affair's, home coming's, traveling, holiday parade's, arts & craft shows, festivals, music concerts, extravaganzas...

Whatever your holiday plans may be this year, please keep in mind that not everyone is blessed with good times, good fortune or even a family to share it with.  The holidays are a great time to do some wonderful things for others who are in need.  Start a holiday tradition by getting your kids & family involved to donate food to local food pantry's & soup kitchen's or volunteer time at your local Boys & Girls Club or get a group to the beach for your own coastal clean-up day or clean out your closet's & donate clothes/books/toys to local homeless and domestic violence shelters or something as simple as offering to babysit a neighbor's kids so they could get some well need rest or errands done.  What a great time of year to be a secret Santa or anonymous donor to your favorite cause, charity or neighbor.  It's amazing how much good we can do for each other!

Wishing you all the very best!
Sheri

  1. I agree with you, CDI. We need to help others less fortunate. I like the ideas you suggested.
